What is Feminism?

What is Feminism?

“The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians.” – Pat Robertson famously said this in the 90s.

No, this is not feminism. Feminism is about gender equality. Gender equality is not only a women’s issue, it is a human rights issue that requires our participation.

Feminism doesn’t mean “female superiority” it just means that both men and women should have equal rights.

And I would like to say that the HeForShe campaign  is an epitome of Feminism. This campaign has actually enlightened the world about the actual meaning of Feminism. Most men think that Feminists want to subvert men and make women a dominant sex, that is not at all true, all that feminists want is gender equality.

And I believe that every movement has extremes, so does Feminism. You may find Radical Feminists who seem to dominate the movement right now. But to all the girls out there all I would just like to say is that being a feminist does not mean that you need to hate men or believe in female superiority. All you have to do is be kind to other women instead of trying to bring them down, you should support other women. Only if we support and help each other grow, is when men too will do so.

A woman’s worst enemy is not a man, it’s just another woman.

Not many people talk about it or even want to consider but women is not the only kind that’s affected by sexism.! I mean Men, Transgender men and women all are affected by sexism. It shouldn’t be only about female. It’s about human race. It’s more about equality among all.
